Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 26 to 31 - Summary

So here is the last of my prompts for Drawlloween 2015, I think it is safe to say that scary is not my thing, although I have kept to this - all thanks to Emma for not letting me give up on it!

Next target for me is to do a mandala by the end of November (my first ever one) and now I have written this on here - I have to stick to it!

Day 26 - Rat (chubby cute baby rat)

Day 27 - Witch

Day 28 - Black Cat

Day 29 - Scarecrow

Day 30 - Spider

Day 31 - Dragon

I have a weird sense of achievement now that I have completed this!

Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 21 to 25 - Summary

I have decided to do this summary for 5 days and the last one will have the last 6 when I get there. I have found this next batch fairly difficult but the main thing that has got me through, is the fact that the last 6 to do look really good and more me!

Also on a side note, really, really, really looking forward to seeing Emma this week for a trip to London! *too excited!*

Day 21 - 8-bit zombie

Day 22 - Candy

Day 23 - Gore

Day 24 - skeleton

Day 25 - Mummy

Hopefully Emma will be able to post some more of her drawlloween prompts soon :D

Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 17 to 20 - Summary

Getting quite lost in some of these prompts, also getting very excited for mine and Emma's next trip to London next week! Literally can not wait!

Day 17 - Demon
For this one I chose to do the grim reaper as I didn't see it anywhere else on the list of prompts, I have also tried to incorporate the way in which I photograph them into the picture too.

Day 18 - Mask
Really wanted to add a lot more to this one, but at the same time kept it plain in the end to make it look a lot more creepy.

Day 19 - Creature from the black lagoon
If I am completely honest, I had not even heard of the creature from the black lagoon before and had no clue where to start.
So after a lot of googling - from what I can make out it is a really old movie - One I do not intend on watching haha!

Day 20 - Skull
Really can't stand skulls, I was going to make this a lot more like a tattoo but skulls irritate me so I have left it as a sketch.

Colouring Challenge - Secret Garden Postcard - 7

So, I have been slipping with my postcards recently *was going to try and make out as though I was just giving Emma the time to catch up* - but this is about to change as the Drawlloween challenge has been bringing me more and more inspiration and motivation to get back on track with my creative side.

I decided to go with yellow flowers as summer is at an end and what better way to see it off and welcome the best season ever - autumn!!

I have also brought some awesome gel pens, which I am hoping will come in handy for the next postcard - going to try a more detailed one. - Wish me luck!

Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 13 to 16 - Summary

I was so close to quitting this as I am starting to struggle with some of these prompts, however, Emma of course has kept me going! God bless her! Because this is a challenge ... not something to give up at the first sign of difficulty.

So here is the next four days - it is a day late, as I am a day behind! I was hoping to catch up tonight, but I am so tired I am going to bed after this post - that is right bed at 10.30pm on a Saturday night. - Hail to the girl who gets as tired as a little old lady!

Day 13 - Frankenstein

Day 14 - Bat

Day 15 - Amulet

Day 16 - Grave

The funniest thing about these ones is that my favourite is the grave drawing at the end and I did a close up as it barely takes up half a page and literally (probably shouldn't admit this) took less than 2 minutes to draw!

Bring on the next few days - hopefully I can catch back up!

Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 9 to 12 - Summary

Here is the latest four days of my drawlloween challenge.

As I am currently in full blown cold and sore throat territory and will therefore not be going out much, it gives me even more opportunity to keep up with these little beauty's. I can actually say that these four are definitely my favourite in terms of the fact I have tried using some different methods.

Day 9 - Eyeball
Everyone who knows me will know I HATE eyeballs and anything with them being removed - it cringes me out big time! with that in mind I thought I should give it a go and even added veins to try and make it a little bit more gruesome.

Day 10 - Alien
I won't lie, the first alien I drew out went horribly wrong! And I mean really horribly wrong - I'm sure you will all notice the parts behind the purple blob that were part of the original - I tried my hardest to work them into the new one as I don't want to start ripping pages out as I am trying to challenge myself.

Day 11 - Raven

So the inkiness didn't really go how I wanted 100% - but then that is the fun part of doing splatters, I did add in the beak and the feet-like parts to try and show that this was my raven taken off. I am so happy I took this photo when this was wet as it has dried very flat.

Day 12 - Moon
This is by far my favourite - taking me back to my uni days - absolutely love this one. (even added another black page into my sketchbook for this one)

Drawlloween Round-Up Part One.

As I'm sure you've seen myself and Kayla have decided to take part in #drawlloween this October. I've seen a couple of different versions of it around on twitter and tumblr but these are the prompts we are following.

Both of us are posting our entries daily (or close enough too) on our personal blogs on tumblr.  But we both wanted Drawlloween to come to this blog too and I'll be making a drawing challenge / drawlloween tag on here so that you can filter our posts.

If you want to follow us each day with the challenge then here's some links to our tumblr blogs:
(I warn you now that I have fallen behind and I am ashamed...)

I intended to write my 'round-ups' weekly, and keep on top of everything but I have just come back from a lovely weekend break and needless to say I forgot about this post completely. So I'll include all my drawings so far for this post.

Anyway on with the drawings....

Emma's Drawlloween Day's 1 - 8:

Day 1 - Ghost.
A very quick sketch of a surprisingly charming ghost.

Day 2 - Devil.
I chose a ram's skull for this prompt, I intended to fuse the rams skull with a human one, but got carried away.

Day 3 - Goblin.
When I googled 'goblin' for inspiration I came across goblin sharks, hence the very large nose.

Day 4 - Vampire.
A very quick pencil sketch for my vampire.

Day 5 - Werewolf.
I did so many drawings for this prompt and was unhappy with pretty much all of them.
If you go to my tumblr there is at least one other version for day 5.  (Depending on whether I've finished one of them or not)

Day 6 - Pumpkin.
Again, much like the werewolf prompt I made various attempts with varying degrees of success for pumpkins.  I just like the smile / grin on this one. Shame I never inked it though.

Days 7 & 8 - Haunted House and Zombie.
I really wanted to merge these two prompts together.  While the drawing didn't go as planned
(Read: I did this on my holiday and forgot to bring coloured pencils/pens/anything other than a mechanical pencil and some fineliners.) I am pretty happy with my escaping zombie boy.

I'm excited for some of the prompts coming up, but I am also challenging myself to go back and re-visit and touch-up some of the drawings I'm not-so-happy with.

Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 5 to 8 - Summary

So here is the latest instalment of my drawlloween challenge. It is certainly more challenging than I thought, specially as me being me is trying to add a cute side to each of these drawings as scary is not something I would go to draw (as I am a whimp with these things).

So here is my take -

Day 5 - Werewolf
(ok so not so much of the were but just the wolf haha - hence why I did two to make up for it)

Day 6 - Pumpkin
Absolutely loved this one - so much so that I added some swirls to it! Even tried to make the faces look a little bit evil.

Day 7 - Haunted House
So I am very disappointed with how this one turned out - I wish I had thought about it before I started more and made it more complex. There could have been so many more possibilities.

Day 8 - Zombie
Didn't even know where to start with this one - so naturally I went for a pink haired girl zombie - because - why the hell not?! (also cracked out my new pack of sharpies for this one - fell in love with them immediately - got a feeling they will be making quite a few appearances.)

I wonder what the next 4 days will bring...

Inktober - Drawlloween - Days 1 to 4 - Summary

So Emma has brought Inktober to my attention, and obviously I am not going to refuse this opportunity. I have decided I will be posting summaries here every 4 entries so here is day 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Drawlloween. I am not very good at drawing scary things, so chances are that most of my entries will be more cute than scary.

Day 1 - Ghost.
Collaged ghost made from hole punch holes, even created a black page in my sketchbook for this one.

Day 2 - Devil.
Simple line drawing of a Tasmanian devil - I know it's not exactly what is expected, but oh well he's a little cutie!

Day 3 - Goblin.
Again went with a line drawing for this one, now Goblins are the last thing I thought I would ever need to draw in my life, but again I think this one turned out ok - and in a weird way kinda cute too.

Day 4 - Vampire.
This one is my favourite so far - little count Tedracular with his tiny fangs!

So here is the first 4 days of Inktober's Drawlloween from me.
